The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is the second largest inter-governmental organisation after the United Nations which is the largest inter-governmental organisaiton with a total of  57 members  countries spread over four different continents. The OIC is the collective voice of the Muslim world and aims to safeguard and protect the interests of the Member States by  promoting international peace and harmony among numerous jurisdicitons worldwide. The Organisation was established after the decision of the historical summit which took place in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco.on 25 September 1969.
